Bryan Castro (b.1994, Passaic, NJ) is a conceptual artist who uses mark-making as his primary method to create text-based works on paper and other substrates. In 2017, Castro got his BFA in Visual Arts with a concentration in Media from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University-New Brunswick in New Jersey. He earned his MFA in Fine Arts in 2020 from the Painting and Printmaking department at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. He has been in shows at the Institute of Contemporary Art at VCU, / (Slash) in San Francisco, California, and the Black Ground Laboratorio Cultural in Cali, Columbia. Bryan is in Texas at the Core Residency Program in The Museum of Fine Arts-Houston, as a 2022-2023 Artist-In-Residence.
